Apple TV Renews 'Margo's Got Money Troubles' for Season 2

The streaming platform confirmed the renewal on Wednesday, May 13, bringing back the ensemble cast for another round of the family comedy-drama.
Adapted from Rufi Thorpe's 2024 novel, the series follows Margo, a young college dropout turned aspiring writer portrayed by Fanning. Navigating life as a new mother while juggling mounting debts and dwindling options, Margo's story unfolds against the backdrop of her unconventional family—her mother, a former Hooter's waitress played by Pfeiffer, and her father, an ex-professional wrestler portrayed by Offerman. Kidman rounds out the principal cast.
Fanning, 28, takes on a dual role as both lead actor and executive producer. She expressed her enthusiasm for the renewal in a statement, reflecting on her experience bringing the character to life.
"Working to adapt Margo for television has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career," Fanning said. "From the moment I encountered Rufi's remarkable novel, I recognized its originality and profound humanity. Combined with David's script work and the extraordinary commitment from our ensemble cast, we created something truly distinctive. The chance to continue exploring Margo's journey—her struggles, ingenuity, boldness and realness—through a second season fills me with genuine excitement. Audiences should expect a wild, complicated and beautiful continuation."
Fresh episodes air Wednesday evenings on the platform, with the renewal positioning the show among the season's notable greenlit projects across the service's expanding catalog.
