Margot Robbie made an appearance at the red carpet premiere of 1536, a theatrical production she is co-producing as part of her LuckyChap company. The opening night took place on Tuesday, May 12, at the Ambassadors Theatre in London.

The play is set during the Tudor period and examines female relationships against the backdrop of a society designed to work against women. The narrative follows three women who reunite at their childhood gathering spot, eager to exchange the latest news from the capital. When word reaches them of a confrontation between King Henry VIII and Queen Anne Boleyn, whispers of scandal begin circulating closer to home. As the women recognize parallels between the royal turmoil and events in their own community, and violence escalates across the realm, the fate of an imprisoned queen becomes intertwined with their destinies.

The production runs through August 1.

Robbie was announced as a co-producer in January, sharing her enthusiasm at the time: "At LuckyChap, we're always drawn to bold, female-driven stories, and Ava's brilliant play is exactly that. We're absolutely thrilled to be coming on board as co-producers for its West End transfer. The show is fearless, witty and emotionally resonant, and it gives voice to women whose stories still feel timely today. Bringing 1536 to the West End is an incredibly exciting next chapter, and we're honoured to help champion this phenomenal piece of art."

For the evening, Robbie wore a McQueen ensemble featuring a black wool mohair jacket with slashed detailing and gold embroidered frogging.

The guest list reflected Robbie's extensive network across film and entertainment. Baz Luhrmann attended alongside Isla Johnston, the actress cast in his upcoming Joan of Arc film, arriving days after Robbie had attended his Met Gala after-party. Shazad Latif, who recently appeared opposite Robbie in Wuthering Heights on HBO Max, was also present. Emma Corrin walked the carpet, as did Hayley Atwell with her husband Ned Wolfgang Kelly—Atwell previously worked with Robbie on Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway in 2021. Singer Jessie Ware, who recently hosted Robbie on her podcast Table Manners, attended the event. Simon Pegg, her co-star from the 2018 film Terminal, was among the attendees, as was Quentin Tarantino with theatre producer Sonia Friedman. Tarantino collaborated with Robbie on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
