Mary Stuart Masterson Returns to Red Carpet for Tribeca Premiere as 60th Birthday Approaches

After largely keeping out of the spotlight in recent years, Mary Stuart Masterson stepped onto the red carpet at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this month, marking a significant public appearance.

The acclaimed actress, currently 59, attended the June 6 premiere of her new film Rain Reign. The milestone comes as her 60th birthday draws near on June 28, 2026.

Rain Reign features a cast including Felice Kakaletris in the title role, along with Paul Rudd, Jeremy Sisto, and Gretchen Mol. The film centers on 12-year-old Rose Howard, a neurodivergent girl whose world is disrupted when a severe storm hits her community and her beloved dog Rain disappears. Forced to navigate unexpected circumstances, Rose must make choices that test her character and inner strength.

Masterson, best known for her roles in Fried Green Tomatoes and Benny & Joon, has several projects in development. She is set to appear in the thriller Sunny opposite Angelina Jolie, which follows a female gangster fighting to shield her sons and herself from a violent drug lord. When tragedy strikes, she has only hours to orchestrate their escape.

The actress will also be seen in Pretty Ugly, co-starring Nicola Peltz, and Mother Wolf, which features Arian Moayed and Melissa Leo.
