Matthew Lillard Joins Superman Sequel 'Man of Tomorrow'

Matthew Lillard is adding another major project to his busy slate. The 56-year-old actor has joined the cast of the Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow, currently in production.
Details about his specific character remain under wraps at this stage. Lillard joins fellow recent casting additions Lars Eidinger, Aaron Pierre, and Adria Arjona on the film.
The sequel brings back David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, and Edi Gathegi in their original roles.
The story follows Superman and Lex Luthor joining forces to protect the galaxy from Brainiac, the film's primary antagonist.
Lillard's career momentum continues to build. He recently completed his recurring role as Mr. Charles, a political lawyer opposing Mayor Fisk, in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, which wrapped its finale. He also appeared in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and will return for the third installment, came back for Scream 7, starred in season two of Cross, and is set to headline the forthcoming Carrie television series.
When asked about his recent career resurgence last week, Lillard remained measured about his comeback, attributing it to what he called a "weird nostalgia thing" rather than genuine audience enthusiasm for his work.
