Melania Trump Demands ABC Fire Jimmy Kimmel Over 'Expectant Widow' Remark

Melania Trump is publicly demanding that ABC remove Jimmy Kimmel from the air.

The First Lady released a statement on Monday, April 27, responding to remarks the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host made during a parody of a White House Correspondents' Dinner roast, in which he referred to her as "an expectant widow."

In her statement shared on X, Melania Trump stated: "Kimmel's hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn't comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America."

She escalated her criticism further, adding: "People like Kimmel shouldn't have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC's leadership enable Kimmel's atrocious behavior at the expense of our community."

The tension between the Trump administration and Kimmel is not new. In September, Trump praised the temporary suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the aftermath of the Charlie Kirk killing. He subsequently threatened legal action against ABC when the show resumed broadcasting. Weeks after that, Trump called for Kimmel's removal from his position.
