NBA Player Brandon Clarke of Memphis Grizzlies Dies at 29

Brandon Clarke, a professional basketball player with the Memphis Grizzlies, has died at 29 years old.
The athlete passed away on Monday, May 11, according to reports. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, with no cause of death disclosed at this time.
Clarke had recently made headlines in April when he was arrested on charges related to speeding and possession of a controlled substance. At the time of his arrest, authorities found 230 grams of kratom in his possession. Kratom is a botanical supplement commonly marketed as an energy booster, mood enhancer, pain reliever, and aid for managing opioid withdrawal symptoms.
Clarke's professional basketball journey began in 2019 when he was selected 21st overall in the NBA draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was subsequently traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, where he became a fixture on the roster. This season, he had dealt with a series of injuries that limited his availability.
The basketball community mourns the loss of Clarke, extending condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and all those close to him.
