The Rolling Stones frontman is making his return to cinema with a notable new project. Mick Jagger has been cast in Three Incestuous Sisters, an adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger's novel helmed by Italian director Alice Rohrwacher.

The drama brings together an impressive ensemble that includes Dakota Johnson, Jessie Buckley, Saoirse Ronan, Josh O'Connor, and Isabella Rossellini. The production is currently underway on Stromboli, a volcanic island situated off Sicily's coast.

Jagger touched down on the island earlier in the week via helicopter as the film continued shooting. He has taken residence in a villa on Stromboli—the same location where Isabella Rossellini's father, filmmaker Roberto Rossellini, famously conducted a romantic relationship with actress Ingrid Bergman during the 1949 production of a film bearing the island's name.

Reports suggest Jagger will take on the role of a lighthouse keeper and the father of O'Connor's character in the film.

The story, according to the novel's description, centers on three sisters with distinct qualities—one beautiful, one intelligent, and one gifted. The narrative traces how sibling jealousy spirals when a passionate romance becomes the catalyst for conflict. The tale escalates toward a dramatic turning point where the relationship between two lovers unravels into betrayal, humiliation, and despair. The book features haunting artwork and poetic language to tell a timeless story exploring love, vengeance, and redemption.

The news of Jagger's casting comes as The Rolling Stones have canceled their planned stadium tour for 2026.
