More than two decades have passed since Goldmember hit theaters, but the Austin Powers franchise appears poised for a comeback. Mike Myers, who created and stars in the spy comedy series, has confirmed that a fourth installment is in the works.

The possibility of another Austin Powers film has been discussed for years without materializing into anything concrete. That changed during a recent appearance on Trevor Noah's World Cup Watch Party, where Myers gave a straightforward answer when asked about the prospect of Austin Powers 4.

"Yes," Myers replied, keeping his response brief and offering no additional specifics about the project.

The timing of Myers' announcement comes as he's currently featured in a new Verizon commercial called "Menace Mobile," in which he brings back his iconic villain Dr. Evil. The ad also reunites several cast members from the film franchise, including Seth Green as Scott Evil, Rob Lowe as Middle Number 2, and Mindy Sterling reprising her role as Frau Farbissina.

Myers has previously addressed the possibility of a fourth film, offering a cautious stance in 2022 when he described his position as "a big, firm, written maybe."

Director Jay Roach, who helmed the Austin Powers movies, has long maintained that any future installment would depend entirely on Myers' enthusiasm for the project. In a 2020 interview, Roach stated: "I wouldn't say 'never' never, but it does depend on Mike having something that he's inspired about and after all these years it hasn't quite clicked yet. But I'm always game for anything he wants to do. He's a genius and he helped me get started and it was a blast."
