Milly Alcock Celebrates 'Supergirl' Premiere With Superman Cast in New York

The Superman ensemble made their way to Manhattan for a major milestone on Monday evening, June 22, as the world premiere of Supergirl took center stage in New York City.

Joining lead actress Milly Alcock on the red carpet were David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult, alongside fellow cast members Eve Ridley and David Krumholtz. Director Craig Gillespie and producer James Gunn were also present for the celebration.

Alcock's journey into the DC Universe began with a post-credits appearance in Superman, which set the stage for her to headline her own film. The Supergirl feature arrives in theaters on June 26, with Corenswet reprising his role as Superman in the new installment.

During the premiere festivities, Alcock revealed insights into the mentorship she received from her fellow superhero. Though their time on set together was limited, Corenswet offered practical wisdom about what lay ahead. "He gave me some advice," Alcock explained. "He was like, 'You're gonna bruise.' I definitely did. 'You're gonna feel proud of the bruises.' A hundred percent true. 'And you're gonna hate the harness and the suit by the end of it.' And all of those things are true."

The new film follows Kara Zor-El as she reluctantly partners with an unexpected ally to pursue vengeance and justice against a formidable threat. Krypto the dog also returns for the adventure. A Superman sequel is already in development, promising more from the expanding DC Universe.
