April 20, 2026

The final trailer has dropped for the upcoming A24 musical drama 'Mother Mary,' bringing together Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel for their first collaboration in ten years.

Directed by David Lowery, the film follows an iconic pop star named Mother Mary (Hathaway) as she reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Coel) just before her comeback performance. The encounter reopens long-buried personal wounds between the two women.

In the trailer's closing moments, Coel's character delivers a pointed line: "There may only be one of us left standing when this is over." Hathaway responds simply with, "I know."

The ensemble cast features Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Alba Baptista, Isaura Barbé-Brown, Sian Clifford, and FKA twigs.

The film's soundtrack showcases original compositions by Charli xcx, Jack Antonoff, and FKA twigs.

'Mother Mary' opens in select theaters across the United States on April 24th. The film's stars, including Hathaway, Coel, FKA twigs, and Alba Baptista, recently walked the red carpet at the movie's New York City premiere.
