Florence Pugh Takes Center Stage in Netflix's 'East of Eden' Limited Series

Florence Pugh is set to headline Netflix's forthcoming limited series adaptation of East of Eden, with the streaming platform releasing an official teaser trailer for the project.

The seven-episode series represents what Netflix describes as a "modern interpretation of Steinbeck's masterpiece," charting the multigenerational journey of the Trask family while centering on the complex character of Cathy Ames, played by Pugh.

Zoe Kazan, recognized for her performances in films including The Big Sick and She Said, serves as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer on the adaptation. The ensemble cast also includes Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Hoon Lee, Tracy Letts, Ciarán Hinds, Martha Plimpton, Joseph Zada, and Joe Anders.

While a specific premiere date has not been announced, Netflix confirmed the limited series will arrive during Fall 2026.

Pugh made an appearance at the Netflix Upfront on May 13 to debut the trailer to audiences.

Beyond this project, Pugh has a notably busy 2026 ahead. The actress will reprise her role as Princess Irulan in Dune: Part Three and return as Yelena Belova in Avengers: Doomsday. Both theatrical releases are scheduled for December 18, marking a simultaneous debut for the two major studio films.
