Netflix Reveals Anime Lineup for 2026-2027, Featuring New One Piece Adaptation and Blue Eye Samurai Season 2

Netflix has pulled back the curtain on its upcoming anime programming, unveiling a diverse collection of new and returning projects set to debut over the next year.

The streaming giant made the announcements Tuesday at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, sharing details on multiple titles spanning adaptations of beloved manga and original productions.

Among the highlights is THE ONE PIECE, a brand-new take on Eiichiro Oda's bestselling manga series. Directed by Masashi Koizuka and animated by WIT STUDIO, this adaptation will launch in February 2027 and begin with the East Blue saga.

THE RIBBON HERO marks the feature film debut for director Yuki Igarashi, known for work on Jujutsu Kaisen and Star Wars: Visions. Drawing inspiration from Osamu Tezuka's Princess Knight, the film arrives August 8, 2026.

The second season of Blue Eye Samurai is also in development, with the story set to follow Mizu's journey as it shifts to London while parallel events unfold in Japan. The series was created by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green.

Additional projects rounding out the slate include Fool Night, based on Kasumi Yasuda's acclaimed manga and directed by Atsushi Yukawa through animation studios Sunrise x Shaft. Sparks of Tomorrow, directed by Minoru Ota and animated by Kyoto Animation, arrives July 5, 2026, drawing from Hiroshi Yuki's novel.

Bass X Machina, arriving November 3, 2026, brings together executive producers Brian Tyree Henry, LeSean Thomas, Jennifer Wiley-Moxley, and Chad Handley, with animation by Studio Mir.
