Nick Lachey Recounts Encountering Jessica Simpson on Hawaii Flight, Claims She Traveled First Class While Kids Were in Economy

During a recent taping of Watch What Happens Live, Nick Lachey opened up about running into Jessica Simpson on a flight to Hawaii. The 52-year-old 98 Degrees frontman shared details of the encounter that took place several months back, revealing an unusual seating arrangement on the six-hour flight.

When Andy Cohen pressed for details, Lachey explained that Simpson occupied a different cabin class than her children. He indicated the 45-year-old actress and producer was in first class while her kids remained in economy seating. Simpson's mother accompanied her in the premium cabin, according to Lachey's account.

"The kids were in a separate class of service?" Cohen asked for clarification.

Lachey confirmed his observation, noting that Simpson's estranged husband Eric Johnson stayed with the children throughout the flight. Simpson shares three children with Johnson: Maxwell, 14, Birdie, 7, and Ace, 12. The couple, who married in 2014, announced their separation in January 2025.
