Nikki Garcia Explains Decision to Skip 'Baywatch' Reboot Audition

Nikki Garcia had the chance to audition for the highly anticipated Baywatch reboot headed to Fox, but ultimately decided to pass on the opportunity.

The 42-year-old WWE performer opened up about her decision during a recent episode of The Nikki and Brie Show, the podcast she co-hosts with her twin sister Brie.

"I had an audition for Baywatch. I ended up not doing it," Garcia shared on the podcast. The primary reason for her withdrawal centered on the show's costume demands. "Because I knew that I would not be comfortable wearing—if I was to get it—I would not be comfortable wearing a red swimsuit 24/7."

Garcia elaborated on her reasoning, emphasizing the importance of self-assurance in her career choices. "I am not confident yet in a swimsuit, so I didn't do it," she said. "What I've learned is I have to put myself in positions of, like, where I feel most confident."

The WWE star then pointed to where she does feel that level of confidence. "When I'm walking down that ramp," she explained, referring to her entrance to the wrestling ring, "and I'm in my Nikki Bella gear, I am so confident."

This decision comes as Garcia deals with a significant injury. Earlier this month, she was forced to withdraw from a scheduled match at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, which she was set to compete in alongside Brie. Paige stepped into the spot vacated by Garcia's absence.

Garcia disclosed the extent of her injury via social media, posting: "Fractured, tore and sprained my ankle. It's been a painful two weeks."

Speaking publicly while using a crutch, Garcia reflected on the setback philosophically. "It's crazy how life works. It's part of the journey, right? We always have that comeback," she said during an appearance. She also expressed her appreciation for the wrestler who replaced her, stating: "There is no one else, and I truly mean this, no other WWE Superstar in the past or now that I would want to take my spot other than Paige."
