Nikki Glaser Joins Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Dancers for Surprise Performance on American Idol
Nikki Glaser's appearance as a guest judge on American Idol on Monday, April 27 came with an unexpected bonus: the chance to dance alongside Taylor Swift's backup dancers from the Eras Tour.
The comedian, who is a devoted Swift fan, teamed up with the touring ensemble to recreate the "So High School" routine from The Tortured Poets Department. Glaser lip-synced to the track while sitting on a staircase surrounded by the dancers, who were on hand to watch the competition's Top 7 contestants perform selections from Swift's catalog.
The dancers took their seats in the lounge area of the American Idol stage as competitors tackled songs including "Fearless," "Mean," "exile," "Love Story," and "Tim McGraw."
Glaser's judging gig comes as part of a broader partnership between the entertainer and the network. She recently released a new comedy special titled Good Girl on Hulu, which is owned by Disney—the parent company of ABC, the network that airs American Idol.
