Ella Bright's Family Watched Off Campus Without Permission, Including Intimate Scenes

Ella Bright didn't get the chance to curate her family's viewing experience of Off Campus, and she's not thrilled about it.

The 19-year-old actress stars alongside Belmont Cameli in the Prime Video series, which features several intimate scenes between their characters. During an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast with Amanda Hirsch, Bright explained that her plan to screen the show with her family and fast-forward through certain moments fell apart while she was away.

"So I got the screeners early and I was like, 'Okay, we're going to sit my family down. I'm going to be able to watch it with you so I can fast forward everything.' And then I come back from the press tour and they've seen it three times," Bright shared. When she asked whether they'd skipped any scenes, the answer was no. "So unfortunately, they have seen it, but that was against my consent," she said.

When Hirsch asked which moment proved most uncomfortable for her family to witness, Bright pointed to two standout moments. "Probably the beginning of [episode] five. It's like the sex montage. It's probably not what I would have recommended, but hey, it's all good," she explained. "Also the mutual masturbation in four is also something."

Interestingly, Bright had known about that particular scene long before stepping on set. After learning the show was in development, she did her homework and discovered the mutual masturbation moment first. "This like mutual masturbation scene was hilariously the first thing I knew about the show and to be able to film that scene and be done with it was hilarious," she recalled.

Once she landed the role, Bright's commitment to understanding her character was immediate. "When I got the part, I read the whole thing the next day. I bought it on Amazon immediately, read the whole thing," she said, referring to the source material the series is based on.
