Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn Narrate New Erotic Audio Drama 'Rent Free' on Quinn

The Off Campus co-stars have joined forces on a fresh project, lending their voices to a new Quinn audio drama titled Rent Free.

Abdalla and Kalyn, whose characters shared a secret romantic tension throughout season one of Off Campus, are now narrating the steamy new production. The audio drama centers on two protagonists living in close quarters: Nora, a spirited painter based in New York City, and Jack, a charming former athlete turned investment banker navigating their post-college lives.

The story kicks off when Nora's world falls apart in a single day—she's betrayed by her partner, evicted from her apartment, and left without a place to stay. Her only option is to move in with Jack, her best friend's older brother. What begins as a temporary solution quickly spirals into something far more complex. Jack's life revolves around work, fitness, and casual relationships, but Nora's presence disrupts his carefully maintained routine. The narrative explores an intoxicating romance set within one apartment, featuring two people from completely different worlds who initially deny their growing attraction before eventually giving in to vulnerability.

Kalyn explained his excitement about joining the project after learning about Quinn's reputation for bold storytelling. "I had heard about Quinn before when I saw Chris Briney on it, and I did some digging. I found out Quinn was a graphic, but beautiful storytelling app," he shared. "I thought — I want to be a part of this. This sounds great."

Abdalla reflected on the parallels between her Off Campus character and the new role. "Fans really resonate with Dean and Allie. They're a spicy couple, and this is a little tease for what's to come," she noted. "Both sets of characters have very specific fronts that they use to deny their attraction to one another. They both dip into vulnerability and then back out because they're afraid. And I think that's really fun to show to the world."

She went on to discuss the broader appeal of such narratives. "In modern romance, we're too nonchalant," Abdalla observed. "People are not expressing their feelings and desires enough, so it's really fun to see these stories about desire. We have to start yearning again."

Kalyn enthusiastically responded: "Bring back yearning! 2026 — don't stop yearning!"

The duo's collaboration marks only the second time Quinn has featured a paired narration from two celebrities. The first was Ember & Ice, which debuted in December and featured Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie from Heated Rivalry. Quinn has previously enlisted other notable voices including Tyriq Withers, Costa D'Angelo, Shawn Hatosy, Sam Heughan, Love Island's Rob Rausch, and Jamie Campbell Bower.

The first two episodes of Rent Free are now available on the Quinn app, which can be downloaded via the Apple Store for iPhone or Google Play for Android devices.
