Original 'Baywatch' Stars Reunite for Fox Reboot: Behind-the-Scenes Beach Shoot

The beloved lifeguards are making a splash once again. On Wednesday, May 27, three stars from the original Baywatch series returned to the sand to shoot scenes for Fox's upcoming reboot at Venice Beach in California.
David Chokachi, 58, Kelly Packard, 51, and Michael Bergin, 57, were photographed during production, showcasing their fitness as they worked through their scenes for the revival series.
Chokachi, who portrayed Cody Madison during seasons 6 through 9 of the original run, will be stepping back into the role for the reboot. According to Fox's description of the character, Cody has since become the owner of The Shoreline, a bar-and-grill that serves as an unofficial Baywatch hangout. He continues to pull on the iconic red trunks for rescue missions and acts as a mentor and friend to the new generation of lifeguards, even providing complimentary wings following successful saves.
Packard, meanwhile, is returning as April Giminski, a character she brought to life during seasons 8 and 9 of the original series. Bergin is reprising his role as Jack "J.D." Darius, which he played from season 8 through the series finale, as well as during the Baywatch: Hawaii spin-off.
Bergin's career has extended well beyond his time on the beach drama. The actor got his start as a model during the early 1990s and notably dated Carolyn Bessette during her relationship with John F. Kennedy Jr. His story was recently dramatized on FX's Love Story, where actor Noah Fearnley portrayed him.
The reboot centers on Hobie Buchannon, the spirited character fans loved from the original series, who now holds the rank of Baywatch captain and follows in his legendary father Mitch's footsteps. His life takes an unexpected turn when Charlie, a daughter he never knew existed, arrives seeking to join the lifeguard ranks and honor her family's legacy alongside him.
Fox has scheduled Baywatch to premiere in January 2027, with episodes also becoming available on Hulu.
