Olivia Rodrigo Makes SNL Debut as Host and Musical Guest With Devil Wears Prada Parody

Olivia Rodrigo is stepping into the hosting chair at Saturday Night Live this weekend, and the show's first promotional clip gives fans a taste of what's to come.
The 23-year-old will both host and serve as musical guest for the May 2 episode. The promo teases a sketch that reimagines The Devil Wears Prada, timed to coincide with the film's sequel hitting theaters the same weekend.
The bit opens with Rodrigo walking through SNL's halls alongside cast members Andrew Dismukes and Jane Wickline. When Tommy Brennan announces that someone important is on the way, the staff erupts into controlled chaos. Rodrigo, meanwhile, remains calm and simply asks, "Who?"
Enter James Austin Johnson, channeling the formidable energy of Meryl Streep's Miranda Priestly. The cast member captures her distinctive walk and commanding presence as the fictional Runway editor arrives.
Rodrigo laughs at the bit, noting that it's her first time hosting and she's still acclimating to the show's sketch universe. Johnson then pivots into a monologue, reminding the young entertainer that her career has been a wellspring of material for SNL sketches—referencing her time on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, her connection to Zac Efron, and her breakthrough single "Driver's License," among other touchstones.
"I find it sort of comical that you think these skits have nothing to do with you, when in fact your entire career has been turned into sketches by the people in this very room," Johnson delivers.
The bit concludes with Brennan warning the group that Lorne Michaels has arrived, sending everyone scrambling once more as Johnson urges them to keep the parody under wraps.
Rodrigo's debut as host airs this Saturday on NBC.
