April 20, 2026

Alan Osmond, the eldest member of the legendary 1970s pop ensemble the Osmond Brothers, has died at 76. According to reports from KSL TV 5 in Salt Lake City, Osmond passed away Monday, April 20, at his home in Utah with his family at his bedside.

Throughout his career, Osmond performed alongside his brothers Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, and Jimmy. He was also the sibling of renowned entertainer Marie Osmond.

Osmond was married to Suzanne Pinegar, with whom he shared eight children.

In 1987, Osmond received a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, a chronic neurological condition that would shape the remainder of his life. Despite the challenges posed by the disease, he maintained a resilient outlook. "I was on stage and couldn't raise my right hand. I trusted my Heavenly Father. You have to have opposition in life — this was my test," he reflected on his diagnosis at the time. He also famously stated, "I may have MS, but MS does not have me!"
