Chase Yi Joins 'Paranormal Activity' Franchise as Lead in Eighth Installment

The casting department for the next Paranormal Activity film has made its first major announcement.

Chase Yi, recognized by television audiences for his work on the Apple TV+ series Mythic Quest, is set to star in a lead capacity in the forthcoming entry to the long-established horror franchise. Director Ian Tuason, whose previous film credit includes Undertone, is helming the project.

The specifics surrounding Yi's character remain undisclosed at this stage, with plot details similarly held back from public knowledge. The extent to which this new installment will tie into the existing Paranormal Activity canon has not yet been specified.

This marks the eighth film in the Paranormal Activity series, which originated with Oren Peli's 2007 found-footage horror classic. Paramount and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster are backing the production, with James Wan, Jason Blum, and Peli serving as producers.

The untitled film is scheduled for theatrical release on May 21, 2027. The franchise's most recent entry, Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, debuted on Paramount+ in 2021.
