Patrick Muldoon's Final Message: Sister Shares Video Actor Sent Hours Before His Passing

Patrick Muldoon's final message to his family has been shared publicly by his sister in the wake of his sudden passing.

The 57-year-old Days of Our Lives actor died on Sunday morning, April 19, from a heart attack. The night before, Muldoon attended an opening at LACMA and recorded a video for his family's group chat, documenting a visit to see Domenico Zampieri's painting "Saint Ignatius of Loyola's Vision of Christ and God the Father at La Storta."

His sister Shanna Muldoon Zappa posted the video along with a heartfelt tribute to her brother. "This was the last video my brother sent to our constant family group chat -from Sat night at LACMA opening," she wrote.

In her caption, Shanna explained the significance of the artwork and Muldoon's personal connection to it. She noted that their brother's producing partner, known as Bobo, had shared insights about Saint Ignatius, describing him as "kind of the cool guy, good time guy who was still able to become a saint." Muldoon, she revealed, referenced the "LL LOY" chant from his days playing football at Loyola High School while discussing the painting.

Shanna painted a portrait of her brother as a multifaceted individual—someone who could seamlessly blend humor with spiritual depth. "He jokes… and yet profoundly brings all things into one moment- the joke-ster, the artist, the football player, and the intensely spiritually connected, Jesuit educated, incredible being that is Patrick Muldoon," she wrote.

She continued with a deeply personal reflection, calling him "my best friend" and "the best brother / son/ uncle/ anyone could ever possibly ask for." Though processing her grief, Shanna spoke of Muldoon in the present tense, noting that his spirit remains present with her. "He just changed forms," she shared.

The family is still in the early stages of mourning and has not yet announced details about a memorial service. Shanna promised to share more about her brother's life and legacy in the coming days.
