Peacock Pulls the Plug on 'Ponies' After Single Season

The spy thriller 'Ponies' has been axed at Peacock following its debut run.

The series, which launched in January 2026, will not be returning for additional episodes. While the streaming service has not publicly disclosed specific reasons for the cancellation, reports indicate the show failed to crack Nielsen's streaming top 10 rankings.

Set in Moscow in 1977, the drama centered on two embassy secretaries thrust into espionage after their husbands die under mysterious circumstances. Emilia Clarke portrayed Bea, a highly educated Russian-speaking daughter of Soviet immigrants, while Haley Lu Richardson played Twila, a fearless small-town operative. The pair worked together to investigate a sprawling Cold War conspiracy and unravel the circumstances surrounding their husbands' deaths.

Despite its cancellation, the complete first season remains available to stream on Peacock.

The cancellation marks one of four series the platform shuttered during June 2026.
