Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy Film Romantic Comedy 'You Deserve Each Other' in Brooklyn

Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy have resumed production on their romantic comedy, with the co-stars captured on location in Brooklyn, New York this week.

The pair were photographed shooting multiple scenes outside an apartment building. In one sequence that appeared to depict a proposal moment, the 39-year-old actor dropped to one knee before hoisting the 36-year-old actress into the air as she ran toward him. Badgley was dressed in a blue plaid shirt layered over a gray tee and blue pants, while Fahy wore a gray hoodie worn unzipped over a striped shirt and light blue sweatpants.

Production also captured a Halloween-themed sequence, with both performers dressed as characters from the 2001 film The Royal Tenenbaums—specifically channeling Luke Wilson and Gwyneth Paltrow's roles. They sat on a stoop distributing candy to trick-or-treaters. Additional footage showed the actors in winter attire, complete with beanies, as they transported boxes from a moving truck.

You Deserve Each Other draws from Sarah Hogle's novel, telling the story of Naomi and Nick, an engaged couple who have lost their romantic connection. As their wedding date approaches, both partners embark on a secret mission to sabotage the nuptials through pranks, schemes, and emotional tactics. The narrative ultimately charts their path back to love.

Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn are directing the project. The pair previously contributed as writers to the romantic comedies Never Been Kissed and He's Just Not That Into You.

The actors first began filming in July 2025.
