Peter Porte Breaks New Ground with Hallmark's 'The Love Heist'

Hallmark Channel is preparing to launch a fresh take on its signature formula this weekend with the debut of The Love Heist, and star Peter Porte is candid about what sets it apart from his decade-long run of projects with the network.
The 42-year-old actor joins forces with Lyndsy Fonseca for the new romantic comedy, which layers in a mystery element alongside its central love story. The plot centers on Kayli, a celebrity stylist played by Fonseca, who must join forces with Mills, a hotel security chief portrayed by Porte, to recover a prized fashion artifact that vanishes during her tenure ahead of the Chicago Costume Gala.
When asked to characterize the film, Fonseca offered a succinct trio of descriptors: "Fashion. Love. Mystery."
Porte expanded on his own assessment, saying the project feels notably different from his previous Hallmark offerings. "Fresh! I don't think I've ever done a Hallmark like this before. So fresh. Exciting. Spicy. And very, very romantic," he shared, highlighting the production's striking locations, elaborate set design, and his co-star's appeal.
Both performers bring extensive television credentials to the production. Fonseca has made her mark on series including Nikita, Desperate Housewives, and 9-1-1: Lone Star, while also appearing in multiple Hallmark projects. Her recent credits for the network include the 2025 holiday film Single on the 25th, along with North to Home, Next Stop, Christmas, and Where Are You, Christmas?
Porte is perhaps best recognized by Hallmark viewers for his role in the series Chesapeake Shores. Beyond his network work, he's known for appearances on The Young and the Restless and Baby Daddy.
The Love Heist premieres on Hallmark Channel Saturday, June 20 at 8pm, with streaming availability on Hallmark+ beginning the following day.
