Prime Video Cancels 2 Shows, Greenlights 7 Renewals in 2026

Prime Video continues to reshape its content slate in 2026, announcing the cancellation of two original series while simultaneously renewing seven fan-favorite shows, some of which secured early renewal orders.

The streaming giant has built its reputation on delivering prestige programming in recent years, with breakout hits like Off Campus and The Summer I Turned Pretty drawing audiences to the platform. The service operates as a comprehensive entertainment hub, offering subscribers an expansive library of premium content accessible across thousands of devices through a single app.

The cancellations mark the latest chapter in Prime Video's aggressive content evaluation strategy. The streamer eliminated 16 series throughout 2025, signaling an ongoing effort to focus resources on its most successful franchises.

Several projects greenlit in 2025 remain in the pipeline and are slated to debut in 2026 or beyond, suggesting the platform continues to invest in new original programming despite the recent wave of cancellations.

As Prime Video navigates its streaming strategy, the company is actively monitoring and updating its slate of original content, with additional announcements expected as the year progresses.
