Queen Latifah stepped onto the red carpet at the 2026 American Music Awards with her family in tow, bringing her son Rebel into the spotlight for the first time.

The 56-year-old performer made her way to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, May 25, where she's set to host the evening's festivities. Accompanying her were her longtime partner Eboni Nichols and their son Rebel, born in 2019.

For years, Queen Latifah maintained privacy around her personal life and kept Rebel away from public view. News of his birth emerged in 2019, and the entertainer later acknowledged both her son and partner during her acceptance speech at the 2021 BET Awards, where she received the Lifetime Achievement Award. "Eboni, my love. Rebel, my love. Peace. Happy Pride!" she shared in that emotional moment.

The couple has been together for more than a decade, though Queen Latifah has historically kept her romantic relationships out of the spotlight. When asked about public speculation regarding her personal life, she told The New York Times, "I don't care if people think I'm gay or not. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway."

Queen Latifah is returning to host the AMAs after more than three decades away from the role. The ceremony airs tonight at 8/7c on CBS, with Taylor Swift leading the nominations with eight nods across various categories.
