Rachel Zegler Brings Tony-Winning 'Evita' to Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre in 2027

Rachel Zegler is set to make her Broadway musical debut in 2027, bringing her award-winning turn as Eva Perón to New York following a celebrated engagement in London's West End in 2025.
The Winter Garden Theatre will host the production, with preview performances commencing on February 27, 2027 and an official opening night scheduled for March 25, 2027. Director Jamie Lloyd's staging of the classic musical will call the venue home after his Broadway adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, featuring Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell, concludes its Fall 2025 run there.
The production follows Eva Perón's ascent from humble beginnings to becoming Latin America's most influential woman. Her journey—marked by fierce ambition and determination—makes her a source of inspiration to some while unsettling others, as she galvanizes the nation and fractures its identity.
One notable element from the London production, a much-discussed outdoor balcony sequence, will be reimagined for the Broadway version.
Producers have already mapped out Zegler's schedule for the year, accounting for the role's physical and emotional demands. Beginning July 6, 2027, an alternate performer will take over the role on Tuesdays, with exceptions during weeks surrounding Election Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
Additional performances without Zegler are scheduled for April 13, 20, and 27, May 11 and 25, June 2 matinee, June 9 matinee, and June 22. She will also be absent the full weeks of August 9-15 and October 25-31.
Presales opened on Telecharge, with general ticket sales beginning June 1.
