Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair have proven that their connection spans nearly three decades, meeting up for lunch this week and sharing candid moments from the outing.

The pair, who starred together in Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde, posted photos from their gathering on social media. Blair shared the images on Instagram, writing about catching up with her longtime friend and referencing their iconic characters Elle and Vivian from the beloved film.

Witherspoon's daughter Ava Phillippe commented on the post, noting how the pair looked great both then and now.

The reunion arrives as excitement builds around a new project in the Legally Blonde universe. Prime Video has unveiled a teaser trailer and first-look photos for Elle, an upcoming prequel series set to launch in July. The show will follow Elle Woods during her high school years in 1995, before her famous arrival at Harvard Law School. The first season explores her navigation of teenage friendships, romance, and fashion experimentation, all while leaning on her close relationship with her mother.

Lexi Minetree takes on the role of young Elle in the series, with Witherspoon serving as executive producer.

Witherspoon and Blair first collaborated in 1998 while filming Cruel Intentions, which premiered in theaters the following March in 1999.
