Robert and Terri Irwin Share Health Update on Bindi at Steve Irwin Gala

Robert Irwin and his mother Terri stepped onto the red carpet at the 2026 Steve Irwin Gala on May 2 at the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, where they opened up about Bindi Irwin's ongoing health journey.

The pair attended the annual celebration honoring the late Steve Irwin's conservation legacy and supporting their Wildlife Warriors charity. They were joined by several familiar faces from Robert's Dancing With the Stars season, including his DWTS competitors Danielle Fishel and Jordan Chiles, as well as his season 34 winning partner Witney Carson. Carson's husband Carson McAllister and their sons Jet, 5, and Leo, almost 3, also attended. DWTS music director Ray Chew rounded out the group.

During the evening, Terri spoke with E! News about how Bindi is managing her endometriosis, a condition she has dealt with for more than a decade. "Bindi is doing so much better now," Terri shared. "Things like a lot of travel are a bit challenging for her at the moment, so she'll be here next year to celebrate this wonderful night."

She explained that Bindi opted to remain in Australia this year to minimize physical strain. "This year she's just staying a little close to home," Terri added. "So, ironically, it's less taxing for her to be home feeding crocodiles."

Robert echoed his mother's sentiments, emphasizing the importance of Bindi's presence at Australia Zoo. "You gotta remember [in] Australia Zoo there's 500 in our team," he said. "There's about 500,000 acres of conservation land that we have. Someone's got to hold down the fort. So, Bindi's doing a great job at that."

Recently, Robert has been keeping busy with the DWTS Live Tour alongside Witney, Danielle, and Jordan. He's also set to host the upcoming Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro spinoff.
