Olympic swimming legend Ryan Lochte has popped the question and is now engaged to Molly Gillihan.

The athlete orchestrated the proposal last week at Prime and Pearl in Gainesville, Florida—a particularly meaningful choice since it's where he and Gillihan first met for a date. As the couple marked their relocation to Missouri, Lochte arranged an evening full of romantic touches, including a pathway lined with red rose petals leading to the same booth they occupied on their initial outing.

Gillihan said yes, and the newly engaged pair sealed the moment with a kiss.

Lochte shared his excitement with TMZ following the engagement. "I'm on cloud 9 she said yes. I'm happy this is my new beginning, and I couldn't do it without her," he stated.

The couple went public with their relationship over Fourth of July weekend last year, though sources indicate they've been dating for approximately 14 months. This marks Lochte's second marriage; he was previously wed to Kayla Rae Reid starting in 2018. Reid filed for divorce in June 2025, with their separation date listed as March 2025.
