Sam Asghari Weighs In on Britney Spears' Rehab Stay, Clarifies Recent Contact

Sam Asghari is opening up about his ex-wife Britney Spears' recent decision to seek treatment at a rehab facility.

The 44-year-old pop icon voluntarily admitted herself to a treatment center earlier this month, according to her representatives. The move comes roughly six weeks after Britney was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence near her residence in Ventura County, California.

On Wednesday, April 22, the 32-year-old fitness model and actor shared his perspective on the situation while speaking with photographers. "I think it's great, [and] I think anything that has anything to do with healing [are] great things," Asghari said. "As long as the person is in charge of that, it's all great."

When asked about direct contact with Spears, Asghari made clear the two have not communicated since she entered the facility.

Sources close to the situation indicated that Britney's sons, Sean, 20, and Jayden, 19, played an instrumental role in encouraging her to pursue treatment. "They've been clear with her. They just want her to be healthy," the source revealed.

The treatment program Spears is enrolled in is scheduled for 30 days, though insiders suggest she may extend her stay if needed.

Her other ex-husband, Kevin Federline, has also recently commented publicly on Spears' decision to voluntarily enter rehabilitation.
