Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman Reunite for 'Practical Magic 2' Trailer Debut

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are stepping back into the magical world of the Owens sisters for another supernatural adventure.

The two leads appear in a freshly released trailer for Practical Magic 2, which will hit North American theaters on September 11, with international audiences getting their chance to see it starting September 9.

The film's official description promises audiences a return to enchanted territory: "PRACTICAL MAGIC 2 returns to a world steeped in moonlit mischief and powerful ancestral magic, as the Owens sisters must confront the dark curse that threatens to unravel their family once and for all in a must-see cinematic event of fun, magic and mayhem."

Joining Bullock and Kidman in the ensemble cast are Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod, Dianne Wiest, and Stockard Channing. The sequel draws from Alice Hoffman's novel The Book of Magic.

Director Susanne Bier, who previously collaborated with Kidman on The Perfect Couple and with Bullock on Bird Box, is helming the project. The screenplay comes from Akiva Goldsman—who penned the original film—alongside Georgia Pritchett.

At 2026 CinemaCon, Bullock and Kidman playfully promoted the film by riffing on Kidman's well-known AMC theater advertisement. During the interaction, Bullock asked her co-star, "Why do we come here, Nicole?" to which Kidman responded, "We come to this place for magic."

Notably absent from the sequel is Aidan Quinn, who appeared in the original film.
