Scarlett Johansson Set to Lead Ari Aster's Upcoming Film 'Scapegoat'

Director Ari Aster has locked in his leading lady for his next project. Scarlett Johansson is set to star in the upcoming film titled Scapegoat, with Aster penning the script himself.

The project continues Aster's prolific partnership with A24, the production company behind his previous critically acclaimed works Hereditary and Midsommar. A24 is also backing this new venture.

According to reports, Johansson was Aster's first choice for the role. Despite her packed slate of upcoming projects, the production team worked out scheduling to make the collaboration happen. After reviewing the script, Johansson committed to the project, with producers planning to move forward with filming later in the year to align with her availability.

Johansson is currently occupied with work on a new Exorcist installment and has The Batman Part II lined up for shooting this summer.
