Tanner Hagen Suits Up in Shaggy's Signature Green Shirt on 'Scooby-Doo: Origins' Set
Production is in full swing on Netflix's upcoming prequel series Scooby-Doo: Origins, and fresh behind-the-scenes photos show actor Tanner Hagen embodying one of animation's most recognizable characters.
The 21-year-old was spotted on set Monday, April 27, in Atlanta, Georgia, dressed in Shaggy Rogers' unmistakable green shirt while filming a scene for the show. The images offer a first look at how the character will appear in this modern take on the classic mystery-solving franchise.
Scooby-Doo: Origins reimagines the iconic teenage detectives and their canine companion through a contemporary lens. The story follows Shaggy and Daphne as they reunite during their final summer at camp, only to become entangled in a mysterious case involving a lost Great Dane puppy. The pup may hold clues to a supernatural murder. Joined by Velma, a science-minded local, and Freddy, a charming newcomer to their town, the four teens embark on an investigation that dredges up dark secrets and pulls them into a nightmarish ordeal.
For Hagen, this marks his most substantial role to date. He previously appeared in a single episode of HBO Max's The Pitt and took on the role of young MrBeast in the YouTube series Dhar Mann.
Netflix announced the start of production with a group photo featuring all four of the main cast members together.
