Shakira Teams Up With Burna Boy for 2026 FIFA World Cup Anthem

Shakira is stepping into the World Cup spotlight once again. The 49-year-old superstar confirmed on Thursday, May 7, that she has secured the role of performing the official 2026 FIFA World Cup track, collaborating with Nigeria's Burna Boy on a song called "Dai Dai."
The announcement came via a teaser video shared across Shakira's social channels, featuring a one-minute preview of the track alongside footage from its accompanying music video. The full release is set for Thursday, May 14.
"From Maracaná Stadium, here is 'Dai Dai,' the @fifaworldcup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We're ready! @burnaboygram," she wrote in her post.
This marks the second time Shakira has been selected for an official World Cup song. Her previous collaboration, "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)," served as the anthem for the 2010 World Cup held in South Africa and has since become one of her signature tracks, accumulating 4.5 billion views on YouTube.
The preview showcases Shakira's vocals on lyrics that speak to resilience and belonging, establishing a motivational tone for the tournament.
The collaboration arrives on the heels of Shakira's recent performance at Todo Mundo no Rio 2026 in Brazil, where she performed for an estimated audience exceeding two million people gathered at Copacabana Beach.
