Michele Weaver Clears Up Speculation About Her Sheriff Country Status

Michele Weaver is setting the record straight about her time away from the Fire Country spinoff.

The series regular, who plays Cassidy Campbell—a sheriff deputy searching for her missing sister—shared a behind-the-scenes video on Friday to respond to mounting speculation about her character's fate. The cast of Sheriff Country also includes Morena Baccarin, Christopher Gorham, Matt Lauria, and W. Earl Brown.

"People keep asking if I was written off. Nope.. just had to leave to have a baby. I'm back next week! Don't miss tonight's episode! If you think you know what's going to happen next… trust me.. you don't," Weaver wrote in her post.

Her character's recent kidnapping by a serial killer had sparked theories among viewers that she might be exiting the show permanently, but the actor's announcement puts those concerns to rest.

The show is heading toward its season 1 finale on May 22, with significant plot developments expected before then. The network has also begun early development on an additional spinoff series within the Fire Country universe.
