Shia LaBeouf Charged with Three Misdemeanor Counts Following Mardi Gras Altercation

Shia LaBeouf is dealing with fresh criminal charges tied to an incident that unfolded during this year's Mardi Gras festivities.

The Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office filed three misdemeanor counts of simple battery against the 39-year-old actor on Thursday, May 21. The charges relate to a reported confrontation involving two men outside a New Orleans bar in February during the Mardi Gras celebrations.

According to police reports, one of the men present during the altercation claimed that LaBeouf used homophobic language during the exchange. Officers documented that the actor "was reportedly causing a disturbance and becoming increasingly aggressive."

Security footage captured LaBeouf removing his shirt before moving toward the men. Audio from the video reportedly captured him yelling, "Let's fight, let's fight."

Following the incident, LaBeouf was taken into custody. During a subsequent court appearance, a judge set his bail at $100,000 and mandated that the Honey Boy star enroll in a substance abuse treatment program and undergo drug testing.

Within days, authorities issued a new warrant and arrested LaBeouf again in New Orleans on an additional misdemeanor charge connected to the original incident.

The legal situation adds to recent troubles for the actor. In late March, his ex FKA twigs filed a new lawsuit against him, referencing their prior sexual battery settlement.
