Sigourney Weaver joined the ranks of Hollywood's most celebrated figures on Friday, May 15, when she left her handprint and footprint in cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. The 76-year-old icon added a personal flourish by placing an exclamation point after her signature in the legendary venue's forecourt.

The ceremony brought together an impressive group of collaborators from across Weaver's storied career. Avatar and Alien director James Cameron was on hand, as was Pedro Pascal, who starred alongside Weaver in the upcoming film The Mandalorian and Grogu.

The timing proved particularly fitting, as the event took place just hours after the world premiere of The Mandalorian and Grogu at the same location the previous evening. After three seasons on Disney+, the beloved Star Wars series is making the leap to the big screen.

Set against a backdrop of Imperial remnants scattered across the galaxy, the film follows legendary bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu as the fledgling New Republic seeks their assistance in protecting the gains won by the Rebellion.

Handprint ceremonies at the venue—originally known as Grauman's Chinese Theatre—trace back to 1927, making Weaver's placement part of nearly a century of Hollywood tradition. The honor remains far more exclusive than the Hollywood Walk of Fame's stars. Since 2020, only 24 other ceremonies have taken place at the theatre, with a year-long pause during the pandemic accounting for part of that relatively modest number.

Glenn Close most recently received the honor just two weeks prior, marking her own milestone by including her dog's pawprint alongside her own.
