Simone Biles Speaks Out on Eye-Watering Glam Squad Costs After Recent Red Carpet

Simone Biles is raising eyebrows about the steep fees celebrities face when hiring glam teams for major events.

The 29-year-old Olympic champion shared her concerns in a TikTok video posted Monday, April 27, detailing the costs associated with a recent red carpet appearance. She opened the video by questioning the current pricing landscape for professional styling services.

"I just need to know if this is normal. Because I know going outside is expensive as f–k these days, but is it this expensive?" Biles said.

She went on to break down her bill: "I just recently had a red carpet event. With the stylist fee, hair and makeup team, my grand total… probably higher than what you're thinking… $22,000. Actually, 23."

The gymnast expressed frustration with the amount, questioning whether the industry has normalized such high costs. "I just want to know. Is that f–king normal? I get inflation. I get prices these days have gone up, but if that's the new norm, y'all can have it. Ya'll will never see me at another event. I'm going to sit my ass right here where it's free. I've been kind of spiraling since then."

Biles also addressed the broader celebrity experience, asking other public figures how they manage similar expenses. "I see y'all at a lot of these events, and there's no way you're paying these prices each and every time," she noted.

In her video caption, Biles acknowledged that she's previously encountered inflated pricing due to her celebrity status, though she clarified that wasn't the case this time around. She emphasized her respect for the professionals she works with while seeking clarity on whether these rates are standard practice.

The red carpet event in question was the Laureus World Sports Awards, which took place in Madrid the previous week and marked her only such appearance in recent months.
