SNL Writer Jimmy Fowlie Announces Sister Christina Lynn Downer Has Died

Jimmy Fowlie, a writer on Saturday Night Live and Roommates, has shared heartbreaking news regarding his sister Christina Lynn Downer. The 40-year-old announced via Instagram on Wednesday that the LAPD has notified his family of her death, with the investigation now classified as a homicide case rather than a missing person matter.
Fowlie first alerted the public to his sister's disappearance in December. In his Wednesday statement, he detailed troubling circumstances surrounding the period leading up to her vanishing. "We have reason to believe that in the weeks before she went missing, her phone and social media were compromised," Fowlie explained. He noted that whoever had access to her accounts used them to conceal her absence, solicit money, and suggest she had deliberately gone "off the grid."
The SNL writer emphasized the importance of keeping his sister's memory alive and encouraging anyone with information to come forward. "I am sharing this because I believe that whoever is responsible is hoping to erase her in every way possible. I want to amplify her story in the only way I know how. And to express that she was a beautiful person who matters in the world, especially to me," he wrote.
Fowlie appealed to the public for assistance, stating, "I also believe there is a chance that someone who knows something might find the courage to step forward. My sister can no longer advocate for herself, but I can and I hope you will too. The best way you could support me in this moment is to share this post and to talk about her story."
In an accompanying note, Fowlie indicated he would be stepping away from social media to process the overwhelming emotions of the situation. He directed anyone with relevant information to contact the LAPD directly rather than reach out to him personally.
