Spencer Pratt Demands CBS Release Full, Unedited Interview Amid Los Angeles Mayoral Campaign

Spencer Pratt is taking aim at CBS over how the network handled his recent interview.

The 42-year-old former Hills cast member is competing to become Los Angeles mayor alongside incumbent Karen Bass and Nithya Raman in an election scheduled for June 2nd. In a passionate video posted to his X account Friday night, Pratt alleged that CBS conducted a full hour of filming at his fire-damaged property but condensed the footage into what he characterized as a "5 minute hit piece."

"After CBS embarrassed Karen Bass by fact-checking her debate lies about the Palisades fire, they clearly got the call," Pratt stated in the video. "CBS filmed with me on my burned-out lot for over an hour talking about crime, housing affordability, things that voters care about, and they turned it over to Karen Bass' PR team to edit it into a comical five-minute hit piece with clips from The Hills."

He continued his criticism, saying: "They can't beat my ideas. They can't beat me in the debates. So they got to try to turn my campaign into a sideshow. People are done with these skeezy political tricks, and I'm done with CBS. They should release the full unedited interview the voters deserve to hear from their next mayor."

Pratt is not the first political figure to challenge CBS's editorial decisions. During the 2024 election cycle, Donald Trump filed suit against the network over its editing of a 60 Minutes interview featuring Kamala Harris.

Pratt launched his mayoral bid in January. His sister Stephanie Pratt has previously voiced disapproval of his entry into politics. Additionally, a comedian recently drew criticism from multiple celebrities for publicly supporting Pratt's campaign.
