The entertainment world came together for an exclusive preview celebration ahead of one of fashion's biggest nights.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos opened their New York City residence on Saturday, May 2, to host a star-studded pre-Met Gala gathering. The event drew prominent actors, models, and recording artists in anticipation of Monday's main event on May 4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute.

As co-chairs and primary donors of this year's Met Gala, the Bezoses are playing a central role in the 2026 edition. The annual celebration carries the theme "Costume Art" this year.

Organized by curator Andrew Bolton, the exhibition examines how clothing interacts with the human form. Structured around various body types—from the unclothed form to pregnancy and aging—the show draws on pieces spanning The Met's extensive archives. It will feature both classic and modern garments and artworks from the Costume Institute, with both historical and contemporary selections represented.

The showcase marks a significant milestone as the inaugural exhibition in The Met's newly constructed Condé M. Nast Galleries, a roughly 12,000-square-foot venue situated near the Great Hall.

Among those attending the Bezoses' pre-gala soirée were Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, Nicole Kidman, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Donatella Versace, Gayle King, Harry Hamlin, Jon Batiste, Sam Smith, Laura Harrier, Georgina Rodriguez, Lindsey Vonn, Vittoria Ceretti, Alexis Ohanian, Tommy Hilfiger, and Stacey Bendet, among others.

As is tradition, Anna Wintour serves as co-chair alongside additional celebrity co-chairs selected for the occasion.
