Noah Kahan Surprises Fans With Extended Edition of 'The Great Divide' Featuring Unreleased Track 'Staying Still'

April 25, 2026

Noah Kahan has treated fans to a rapid-fire release, unveiling an expanded edition of his latest album less than 24 hours after dropping the standard version.

The 29-year-old Vermont-based artist shared The Great Divide: The Last Of The Bugs, an extended take on his fourth studio album that arrived just days after the initial release. The expanded version brings four additional tracks into the fold: "Lighthouse," "A Few of Your Own," "Orbiter," and the highly anticipated "Staying Still."

The inclusion of "Staying Still" marks the arrival of a track that has been generating buzz since last November, when Kahan debuted it at the Busyhead Project and Red Sox Foundation benefit concert held at MGM Fenway in Boston. The song explores the artist's frustration with the drive to Logan Airport, the major hub serving the Boston area. The track, co-produced by Carrie K and Gabe Simon, features Kahan singing about the Charles River, the Harvard track team, and his feelings about the journey along Storrow Drive.

The extended edition gives listeners access to material that didn't make the cut for the standard album tracklist, though Kahan clearly felt these songs deserved an audience. The move represents a common strategy among artists looking to maximize engagement with their fanbase while providing additional depth to their creative output.

The Great Divide marks another chapter in Kahan's evolving discography, following his previous work and continued connection with his dedicated audience.
