Sutton Foster Makes Met Gala Debut Alongside Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster stepped onto the carpet together at the 2026 Met Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May 4.

The pair—both Tony Award winners—marked a milestone moment for Foster, who was attending the prestigious event for the first time. Jackman, 57, has graced the Gala more than six times over the past 22 years, while Foster, 51, was experiencing the iconic evening for the very first time.

Foster turned heads in a Monse ensemble, accessorized with Fred Leighton jewelry, Aquazurra footwear, and a Judith Leiber clutch. Jackman opted for an Armani look, layered with a Briony Raymond 1950s diamond brooch and completed with a Piaget timepiece.

This year's Met Gala celebrates the museum's Costume Art exhibition, which examines the "centrality of the dressed body" through depictions and interpretations of human form drawn from the Met's vast collection. The evening's dress code theme is "Fashion is Art," and the gala is being co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

The annual celebration brings together hundreds of A-list celebrities for what remains fashion's biggest night of the year.
