Sweet Magnolias Season 5 Moves the Action to Manhattan—See the New Trailer

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the fifth season of Sweet Magnolias, and this time the story takes the ensemble cast beyond their South Carolina roots.
The new season arrives in June with 10 episodes, bringing back stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, and Heather Hadley. The major shift: Maddie's relocation to Manhattan for a professional opportunity sets the stage for the Magnolias' New York adventure.
According to the show's official description, season 5 finds multiple characters from Serenity juggling the complexities of fresh employment while working to maintain equilibrium in their personal lives. The synopsis notes that the friends navigate evolving and budding relationships while reassessing their priorities and expectations of one another. The narrative spans from their hometown through New York and beyond, with the group leaning on their signature blend of resilience, levity, affection, and even cocktails to weather the obstacles they encounter.
Showrunner and executive producer Sheryl J. Anderson expressed enthusiasm about the direction of the season. "We are thrilled to let the Magnolias take Manhattan," Anderson shared with Tudum. "Not only is this adventure huge fun, it's also an opportunity to explore the facets of their relationships in a new context. While it's crucial to have true friends in day-to-day life, it's priceless to have them supporting you when you leap out of your comfort zone."
The season premieres on June 11, with new episodes rolling out on the streaming platform.
