Sydney Sweeney's Cameo Removed From 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'

Sydney Sweeney won't be appearing in The Devil Wears Prada 2 after all. The 28-year-old Euphoria actress had filmed a cameo for the sequel, which was spotted when she was photographed on set last summer.

According to reports, the decision to cut Sweeney's appearance came down to creative considerations. The scene, which would have appeared early in the film, featured Sweeney playing herself while being styled by Emily Blunt's character in a roughly three-minute sequence.

Sources indicate that while the team appreciated Sweeney's involvement, the footage ultimately didn't fit with the surrounding material structurally. The removal of the bit was described as a challenging call to make, given her cooperation during filming.

Cutting celebrity cameos during post-production is a standard practice in filmmaking. Recent examples include the removal of Lola Tung and Nicholas Alexander Chavez from I Know What You Did Last Summer, as well as Simone Ashley—who appears elsewhere in The Devil Wears Prada 2—being cut from the Formula 1 film.
