Tan France Reveals Dramatic Hair Makeover, Addresses 'Midlife Crisis' Speculation

The 43-year-old Queer Eye personality stunned followers on Wednesday when he unveiled a major change to his signature look. France swapped out his familiar silver locks for a striking near-black shade, prompting immediate questions from his fanbase.

Taking to Instagram to explain the transformation, France acknowledged the dramatic shift head-on. "I know my hair's dark. It's fine, Well, no, it's not," he said while showing off the new color. "I know it's very weird to see me with dark hair. It's weird to see myself with dark hair."

The style switch wasn't meant to be a public announcement, France explained. He decided to address the change after encountering confused reactions from fans during recent outings. "I wasn't going to share this at all, but I've been out twice in the last couple days, and people are very confused," he shared.

France was quick to shut down speculation about a personal crisis. "This is not a midlife crisis," he stated firmly. Instead, the transformation serves a professional purpose: France dyed his hair for an upcoming acting role.

The makeover is temporary. "I'm gonna go right back — hopefully — to my natural color in the next month or two," France promised his concerned followers.

Though France kept the specific project under wraps in his video, industry reports indicate he is set to appear in the holiday comedy film Clashing Through The Snow, which stars Christopher Briney, Michelle Randolph, Julia Fox, and Lukas Gage. The production is currently underway.
