Tangles Cast Gathers for Cannes Film Festival Premiere

The ensemble behind the animated feature Tangles took to the Palais des Festivals in Cannes on Thursday, May 14, for an official photo call at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

The gathering brought together voices Seth Rogen, Samira Wiley, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Abbi Jacobson, who joined director Leah Nelson and producer Lauren Rogen—the latter also Seth's wife—for the media event in the French Riviera.

The film centers on Sarah, a woman navigating a profound life transition after leaving behind her activist and artistic pursuits in 1990s San Francisco. She returns to her conservative hometown of origin when her mother's personality begins shifting due to Alzheimer's disease. Thrust into unexpected responsibility, Sarah manages new romantic connections, dormant professional aspirations, and the complexities of her unconventional family dynamics—including a journey to Mexico and back as she attempts to rally them around the gravity of her mother's condition.

At its core, the story traces Sarah's journey toward acceptance. Faced with circumstances beyond her control, she works to come to terms with her mother's progressive decline while discovering the complicated beauty within her family unit, ultimately becoming the daughter her family needs during their most difficult chapter.
