Teen Exits Moving Boat on Tiana's Bayou Adventure Before Major Drop at Disneyland

A young guest required emergency medical attention after leaving a moving boat during a ride at Disneyland over the weekend.

On Sunday, June 21, a 13-year-old boy exited his boat while aboard Tiana's Bayou Adventure, just prior to when the attraction takes riders through its signature 52-foot descent. The ride's cast member operator halted the attraction immediately upon noticing the teen had left the vessel, though the boy continued partway down the water flume before additional cast members intervened to help him.

The Anaheim Fire Department arrived at the scene and transported the teen to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. He was subsequently discharged.

Disneyland officials confirmed the incident to media outlets. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health conducted an inspection of the attraction on Monday morning, June 22. The ride resumed operations later that same day following the inspection.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure debuted at Disneyland in November 2024, arriving several months after its counterpart opened at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Florida. The water ride draws inspiration from Disney's 2009 animated feature The Princess and the Frog, and stars Tiana, who holds the distinction of being Disney's first Black princess.

This incident adds to a notable history of safety concerns at the Anaheim park. In October 2025, a visitor died following a ride on the Haunted Mansion attraction at the California location.
